Catholic Staten Island News and Happenings is a non-profit site that shares the news of the southernmost area of the NY Archdiocese. This is an independent site, not affiliated with any group or organization.
Mary DiBiase Blaich, Editor-In-Chief, Photographer, Owner and Creator, is a 40 plus year Photojournalist working in the New York City area for over 45 years. Her work has been published in Catholic New York, The New York Times, the New York Daily News, Newsday, and many other clients. In addition, Mary has covered numerous news and sporting events including three Papal visits to New York, New York City Marathons, Yankees, Mets and lots of feature assignments including news, sports, fashion, feature and numerous liturgical events, She has photographed Presidents, Popes, and lots of scholastic athletes. In addition, she volunteers her photography skills to the New York Council Navy League and the University of Notre Dame Club of Staten Island.
Mary graduated from all Catholic Schools K through High School in the New York Archdiocese and holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts from St John’s University in Jamaica, NY. In addition, she did graduate work at Villanova University. Married to Charles R Blaich, retired FDNY Deputy Chief and Marine Corps Colonel, they have two sons, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.
